DIRECTOR
Generally speaking, the Director of a Newman Center is a person who is in charge of the day-to-day operations. The director of a Newman Center is appointed by the bishop of the diocese in which the Newman Center resides.
Qualified lay people, religious and priests can be directors of a Newman Center so long as they are appointed by the local bishop. When a layperson or a religious, who is not a priest (i.e, a religious sister or brother), is appointed as the director of the Newman Center, then a chaplain (i.e., a priest) is usually assigned to the Newman Center to provide sacramental and pastoral ministries.
Fr. Eugene Radosevich is both the Director and Chaplain of the Salve Regina Newman Center, Eureka, Illinois. Bishop Daniel R. Jenky, CSC, Bishop of Peoria, appointed Fr. Radosevich on June 11, 2008, to be the Director of the Salve Regina Newman Center and the pastor of St. Luke Roman Catholic Congregation of Eureka, IL. In 2016, while remaining Director of the Newman Center and pastor of St. Luke, the bishop also made Fr. Eugene pastor of St. Joseph's, Roanoke, and St. John, Benson.
